The Death Riders have been a powerful faction since their inception a few months ago. The group has taken out anyone who has come in the way of Jon Moxley’s vision for AEW.
However, the group seems to have a weak link in Wheeler Yuta. When Mox and his crew turned on Bryan Danielson, Yuta wasn’t involved in the decision and was shocked. This shows that they possibly think of him as lesser than the rest. The 28-year-old wasn’t an original member of the Death Riders and joined them only after Mox had defeated Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship.
Looking back to their days in the Blackpool Combat Club, Yuta has always appeared to be the weakest member of the group. They have always treated him like an errand boy. This week on Dynamite was a perfect example of this when The Decoder was the one pinned during the Death Riders’ trios match against Rated FTR.
The Purveyor of violence could start seeing him as a liability. If Moxley is to achieve his vision, then he needs to get rid of the ones holding him back and this could mean Wheeler Yuta. He might ask Claudio Castagnoli and PAC to carry out the task of attacking Yuta and kicking him out of the group similar to what they did to Bryan Danielson. This is arguably the best way forward for the group to maintain its dominance and send a message that even one of their own would not be tolerated when it came to the overall goal of Jon Moxley and his Death Riders.
Konnan is no longer a fan of Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley and the Death Riders have done some controversial things in a short time. Mox is responsible for booking the storyline and while they are trying to come across as a dominant force, the group has come under scrutiny lately from fans and legends for their lackluster booking.
Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 Official podcast, Konnan recalled hearing about Jon Moxley for the first time from a WWE trainer. He admitted that he was impressed after watching one of his promos in the indies. However, based on his current bookings, Konnan said he was no longer a fan of Mox.
“I remember Norman Smiley who works at the like training guide in WWE and I remember him saying here there’s this guy…what was his name before Moxley….Dean Ambrose. He goes there’s this kid called Dean Ambrose you got to look out for him cause he’s very different. He walks to the beat of his own drum and he’s going to be a star one day and so I went and I looked for him and I saw this promo he did in the indies and I was like, ‘Wow! this guy is good’. So, I was a big Dean Ambrose Moxley fan too. I’m not a fan of what he’s doing right now,” he said. [2:15 – 2:55]

Jon Moxley will not be happy after the Death Riders’ recent loss to the Rated R Superstar and FTR. It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions for Wheeler Yuta.
