AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has been at the top of the mountain with his Death Riders for the past few months. The former WWE star could finally meet his match in the form of a returning Eddie Kingston.
The Mad King is currently recovering from broken tibia, torn ACL, and meniscus tear suffered during his match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence last year. Eddie Kingston underwent surgery on July 9, 2024. In a recent interview, the former AEW Continental Champion revealed that he could be back in the ring by May or even April 2025.
Jon Moxley, who has taken over AEW alongside Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Marina Shafir seems to stop at nothing during his matches for his World Title. He has yet to meet a star who has come close to taking the AEW World Title away and a returning Eddie Kingston could be the one. Moxley and Kingston have history together and this could be the perfect opportunity to start their feud.
Eddie Kingston has had his eye on what has been happening recently and revealed that he knew something was going on with Jon Moxley as he usually trades text messages with the former AEW World Champion. However, it has been a while since he has spoken to Moxley, which Kingston immediately saw as a red flag.
AEW star Eddie Kingston recently provided an update on his injury
Eddie Kingston has proven to be a consistent performer in All Elite Wrestling. The Mad King is healing from a broken leg and recently provided an update on his condition. During a recent conversation with DAVINci Report, Eddie Kingston confirmed that recovery is going good and can walk now. He further revealed that he’s getting impatient staying at home.
“Just healing up from a fracture of my tibia, strain on my meniscus, and I had to get my ACL replaced. A lot of fun. It’s been a process. It’s going good, until my insurance acts up, and that’s when I get annoyed. Insurance is a fraud, folks. Just throwing that out there. I’m starting to get itchy at home. I can walk now, a little bit. I can walk, I can lift weights. I can do squats a little bit, not too low. Now it’s at the point of, ‘Let’s hurry this up. Let’s get going,'” Eddie Kingston said. [H/T to Fightful]
We will have to wait and see if Eddie Kingston makes his return to All Elite Wrestling in the upcoming months.
