Kenny Omega teases a blockbuster reunion with former WWE name: "The only wrestler who supported me"

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega opened up about a future reunion with a former WWE performer. The Cleaner also admitted that the star in question was the only wrestler who supported him while he was out.

The former WWE name in question is the popular Japanese wrestler, Kota Ibushi. He competed in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament organized by the Stamford-based promotion back in 2016. Ibushi is currently signed with AEW but has been absent from TV since his last appearance on Dynamite in November 2023.

Kota Ibushi is also known for his popular tag team with Kenny Omega in Japan named “Golden Lovers.” The duo teamed up for multiple matches in AEW as well. Meanwhile, Kenny has shown his optimism in reuniting with Ibushi following his in-ring return. Omega made his in-ring return recently at Wrestle Dynasty in Tokyo Dome.

Speaking on Tokyo Sports recently, The Best Bout Machine disclosed that Kota Ibushi was the only one who practiced with him during his absence. Omega also teased reuniting ‘Golden Lovers’ either in Japan or in America.

“For the past year, the only wrestler who supported me and practiced with me was Kota Ibushi. Since we live in different countries, I’ve done most of it alone but thanks to Ibushi… I got my final confidence back. Kenny Omega is set to appear on AEW Dynamite

Prior to his in-ring return at Wrestle Dynasty, Kenny Omega made his AEW return after months at Worlds End 2024 as the company EVP and presented the Continental Title to Continental Classic 2024 winner, Kazuchika Okada.

Following his blockbuster return, Omega has been advertised to appear on Dynamite this Wednesday. The Cleaner would appear on AEW’s flagship show after several months.

Moreover, fans will have to wait for Dynamite this week to find out the purpose of Omega’s appearance on the show.
