Kevin Owens attacks Cody Rhodes after Saturday Night’s Main Event, steals Winged Eagle title

Cody Rhodes successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC, but the aftermath led to medical attention being required for the champion.

Following the broadcast, Rhodes was stretchered out of the arena after Owens executed a Piledriver in the ring center. Fan reports on social media documented the incident, which caused concern among the live audience.

During the post-match assault, Owens took possession of the WWE Winged Eagle Championship and left the arena with the historic title. Medical personnel attended to Rhodes while Triple H confronted Owens backstage.

This continues a pattern of post-show attacks by Owens on Rhodes. At Bad Blood, after Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated The Bloodline, fans witnessed Owens ambush Rhodes in the WWE parking garage.

WWE has not released an official statement regarding the incident at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The rivalry between Rhodes and Owens is expected to continue on upcoming episodes of RAW or SmackDown.
