LA Knight fails again to capture WWE US title

LA Knight faced Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship on WWE SmackDown on January 10. The challenger was looking to regain the title lost at Survivor Series 2024.

The match started in the second hour of the show, with LA Knight receiving strong support from the crowd at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Nakamura dominated the early moments, but Knight responded with highly offensive strikes, including an attack in the commentator’s area.

The United States Champion maintained control during the commercial break. Upon returning, Knight managed to even the match with a top rope bulldog. After a series of finishers and Nakamura’s Kinshasa, Knight reached the ropes to escape the count.

Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso save LA Knight

When LA Knight executed the “BFT,” Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga stormed into the ring. The attack was in response to a backstage confrontation moments before the match.

New Bloodline’s interference prevented LA Knight from reclaiming the United States Championship. Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso rushed to the ring to make the save, ending the segment.
