Liv Morgan retained the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match concluded when Morgan countered SKY’s Moonsault attempt and executed Oblivion for the victory.
WWE highlighted SKY’s performance on their Instagram account despite the loss. “Despite coming up short, @iyo_sky killed it last night at #SNME!”
Morgan acknowledged her opponent’s effort while celebrating her own success. “She killed it but not as much as meeeeeeeeee,” Morgan wrote in response to WWE’s post.
The champion’s celebration was cut short when Rhea Ripley appeared on the entrance ramp, leading to a face-off between the two competitors at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Morgan has held the Women’s World Championship since defeating Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring.
