After an absence from AEW programming that lasted nearly two years, former two-time TNT Champion Scorpio Sky has made his return. The comeback occurred during the taping of the 100th episode of AEW Collision, which is scheduled to air on July 5.
Sky emerged to answer an open challenge issued by Max Caster, securing a decisive victory in his first match back. He did not come alone, making his entrance alongside his former SoCal Uncensored teammate, Christopher Daniels, as well as the faction Top Flight, consisting of Dante and Darius Martin, and Leila Grey. Following the match, Daniels entered the ring to celebrate the dominant win with Sky.
The appearance marked the end of a prolonged and mysterious period of inactivity for Sky within the company. His last televised match for AEW took place in September 2023, though he remained active on various independent promotions. The long hiatus led to much speculation, which Sky himself addressed on his “Creating Character” podcast in May 2025.
“I have been 100 percent healthy. I’ve been ready to go,” Sky stated on his podcast. He clarified that his absence was not due to injury and expressed uncertainty about why he was not being utilized by the promotion.
AEW President Tony Khan also commented on Sky’s status during the post-show media scrum for Double or Nothing in May. Khan noted that he holds Sky in high regard and that while there had been creative plans for him, they ultimately did not come to fruition for various reasons. The return on Collision, aligned with Daniels and Top Flight, suggests a new chapter is now beginning for the veteran competitor.
