A new, high-profile team has officially entered the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture. During the taping for the July 4th episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss joined forces to earn a title opportunity at the upcoming Evolution premium live event.
The alliance began to form during a backstage segment where SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis approached Flair with a proposal. Aldis suggested she team up with Bliss for a number one contender’s match against the team known as Secret Service. After a moment of hesitation, Flair accepted the offer.
Later in the evening, the duo competed in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match against Secret Service and the team of Michin & B-Fab. The newly formed partnership proved successful, as Alexa Bliss secured the pinfall victory for her team. Following the match, she and Flair shared a brief, celebratory hug in the ring, signaling a functional alliance for now.
This development finalizes a key match for WWE Evolution, which is scheduled for July 13, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The champions will now defend their titles in a four-way tag team match representing all WWE brands.
The context for this multi-team match stems from an injury to Liv Morgan, which led to Roxanne Perez taking her place and the subsequent decision to book a multi-brand championship bout. Flair and Bliss will now represent the SmackDown brand in that contest.
