Matt and Jeff Hardy are contemplating the final chapter of their legendary careers, signaling a desire for one last run in WWE and an eventual induction into the company’s Hall of Fame. The brothers confirmed their interest during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, adding another layer to the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA.
Matt Hardy explained their shared ambition for a definitive conclusion with the company that launched them into superstardom.
“I think we would like maybe one last hurrah with WWE, and that could even be possible while working with TNA too, so we’ll see. It would be nice to still have the most limited schedule we could have, which could optimise how much time we could spend at home with our families and our kids. Everything is kind of up in the air right now, we both feel good and I think we’re gonna rock and roll as long as we feel like we can do it.”
The subject of a Hall of Fame induction is particularly significant for the duo, as Jeff Hardy revealed he previously turned down an offer for a solo induction in 2021. The decision was rooted in his desire to be honored alongside his brother.
“It just felt weird, it didn’t feel right, it just didn’t feel right going in without Matt, just in the moment how I felt.”
Matt confirmed the offer was made while he was working for AEW and reiterated their stance that they are in no rush for the honor.
While they look toward a potential WWE return, the Hardys remain prominently featured in TNA. After a six-month reign as TNA World Tag Team Champions, they lost the titles to The Nemeths at the Rebellion pay-per-view earlier this year. Their focus now shifts to a signature ladder match scheduled for TNA Slammiversary on July 20.
Speculation about a renewed WWE relationship intensified following the Hardys’ appearance on the NXT Roadblock special in March. As part of the talent exchange, they defended their TNA World Tag Team Championship against Fraxiom, and WWE followed up by releasing new Hardy Boyz merchandise. This move was seen by many as a tangible sign of a warming relationship between the iconic team and the company.
