Major WWE SmackDown authority figure hints at final match, possibly betraying Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series

Nick Aldis revealed his interest in returning to the rings during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight. The WWE SmackDown general manager, who hasn’t competed since ACW Bluegrass Con on October 7, 2023, expressed his desire for at least one more bout.

“Honestly, no,” Aldis responded when asked if he was content with his career ending without another match. “I would like to lace them up. I don’t care if it’s on a regular basis, but I’ve earned it. If it was one more time, so be it. I feel like I meet the criteria to be on that canvas at least once.”

Aldis brings championship pedigree as a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and IMPACT World Champion.

With Aldis making it clear that he’s not ready to retire from the ring, it’s evident that his wrestler side could return at any moment. Currently mediating a large-scale tension between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, it’s possible that Aldis might betray Rhodes at any time.

Aldis holds dual contracts with WWE

Since joining WWE in August 2023, Nick Aldis maintains two separate contracts with the company. “Now I have two; producer and a talent. I have two contracts. An employee contract as a producer and a talent contract for the General Manager role,” Aldis explained to Van Vliet.

Initially serving as a backstage producer, Aldis transitioned to SmackDown general manager in October 2023.
