Major WWE star says they “hate” Cody Rhodes, explains why
Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes engage in intense confrontation on SmackDown, while speculation builds around The Rock's WrestleMania 41 plans and potential title pursuit.
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens engaged in a heated verbal exchange on SmackDown, breaking from their usual appearances as Rhodes opted for a tracksuit while Owens donned a tuxedo-style shirt. Despite SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis claiming Owens wasn’t in the building, KO emerged through the crowd to address Rhodes from outside the ring.
The confrontation reached its peak when Owens made a startling declaration about his true feelings. While addressing his recent attack on Randy Orton, Owens revealed he actually loved Orton before turning to Rhodes to declare, “I hate you,” to the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Rhodes fired back, suggesting Owens’ hatred was self-directed, stemming from KO’s decision to align with The Original Tribal Chief after Roman Reigns and The Bloodline repeatedly attempted to end his career. Rhodes emphasized this alliance would be “one-and-done,” displaying visible anger at Owens’ words.
The tension continued backstage when Carmelo Hayes made remarks about Rhodes “finally getting told off,” leading to an altercation that required Nick Aldis’ intervention.
The Rock’s WrestleMania 41 plans might surprise fans, Rhodes says
The speculation surrounding The Rock‘s future in WWE continues to grow following his appearance at Bad Blood in October. In a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Cody Rhodes addressed the rumors about potential matches with both himself and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41.
Rhodes praised The Rock’s involvement in WWE’s current success, noting his collaboration with Nick Khan and Triple H has contributed to the company’s record era. “Rock is the director of the board. The man that is the ‘Final Boss,’ Dwayne Johnson is different from the ‘Final Boss,'” Rhodes explained, adding that fans should “keep the rumors going” while hinting at surprising developments for WrestleMania 41.
While The Rock’s participation at WrestleMania 41 seems likely, discussions have also emerged about his possible appearance at the 2025 Royal Rumble, particularly if he sets his sights on Rhodes’ championship.
