Chad Gable offered an update on his recovery this past Sunday, posting a video to social media showing his heavily bandaged arm. The post follows his confirmation on July 2 that he had undergone a successful procedure for a legitimate, nagging shoulder injury.
His last appearance on WWE RAW was on the June 30 episode, where he appeared with his arm in a sling to announce the surgery. The injury was written into storylines on the June 23 broadcast, where Penta El Zero Miedo attacked Gable backstage, targeting his shoulder with an arm-breaker. Reports indicate Gable could be sidelined until late 2025.
During his televised announcement, Gable appointed Ivy Nile as the new leader of the American Made faction to manage the group during his absence.
The injury also creates uncertainty around the El Grande Americano character, who holds the WWE Speed Championship. While Gable was presumed to be under the mask, a new individual appeared as El Grande Americano on the June 30 episode of RAW. This has fueled speculation that Ludwig Kaiser has assumed the role. WWE has not yet addressed the status of the Speed Championship.
