On the 300th episode of AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, Mercedes Moné reached a monumental career milestone, securing a victory in her 1,000th professional match. The contest saw her successfully defend the AEW TBS Championship against Mina Shirakawa.
The championship bout continued Moné’s undefeated streak in singles competition since joining AEW in March 2024. The match was also a rematch from their encounter at Wrestle Dynasty in Japan this past January, where Moné defeated Shirakawa to capture the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.
Leading up to the milestone, Moné used social media to reflect on her career journey, which began on August 8, 2010. In a notable post acknowledging her time in WWE as Sasha Banks, she listed favorite matches against Bianca Belair and Asuka, appreciating the full scope of her work that led to this achievement. Her 999th match occurred just last month in Mexico at a CMLL x NJPW FantasticaMania event.
With her 1,000th match now in the history books, Moné’s focus immediately shifts to her next major challenge. She is scheduled to face Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In: Texas on July 12.
