Multi-time World Champion teases in-ring return in WWE after over ten years; sends a message

WWE legends and veterans haven’t shied away from entering the ring whenever needed. Recently, multi-time World Champion Rob Van Dam was blindsided on NXT, and the veteran teased a return with a daunting message.

Earlier this month, WWE hosted an ECW-themed episode of NXT, which featured several “Extreme” legends and veterans on the show. During the episode, RVD was attacked by Wes Lee with a steel chair. However, karma struck back as Lee was confronted by Mr. Monday Night, which ultimately cost him the match against Je’Von Evans.

Today, the former TNA, ECW, and WWE Champion sent a message to Wes Lee and teased an in-ring return. The veteran has confronted Lee and even evaded a few moves, which logically indicates a potential in-ring showdown between the two high flyers.

“I’ll get him back,” Dam said.

RVD’s last WWE match was in 2014

Rob Van Dam made his full-time transition to the Stamford-based promotion when the company bought its rival promotion and started an invasion angle on the weekly product. RVD was a household name by the time he appeared for Vince McMahon’s product.

In the coming years, the veteran won multiple titles and eventually became the only star to hold the ECW and WWE Championship at the same time. In 2007, he left the company and worked on the independent circuit.

After a successful TNA run from 2010 to 2013, RVD returned to the Stamford-based promotion and had a short stint in the company. The veteran faced some new and old faces in this run.

However, he didn’t win any titles on either brand and eventually had his final match with Seth Rollins, which he won via countout. The ECW veteran also returned to TNA Wrestling for a second run.

In 2021, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and has been making several sporadic appearances for the company. It’ll be interesting to see if RVD makes one final in-ring return against Wes Lee in the coming weeks.
