Naomi Comes Close to Cashing In Money in the Bank on WWE SmackDown

An attempted Money in the Bank cash-in by Naomi was thwarted by WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton during SmackDown.

Naomi’s latest attempt to cash in her Money in the Bank contract ended in failure during the main event of Friday Night SmackDown. The opportunity arose during the final moments of a grueling Last Woman Standing Match for the WWE Women’s Championship between the champion, Tiffany Stratton, and challenger Nia Jax.

As both competitors were reaching their limits, Naomi rushed to the ringside area and attempted to hand her briefcase to the referee to make the match official. However, before the transaction could be completed, Stratton delivered a boot to Naomi, neutralizing the threat. The champion then used the briefcase as a weapon, striking Jax and sending her crashing through two tables at ringside. Jax was unable to answer the ten-count, allowing Stratton to retain her title.

This marks the second unsuccessful cash-in attempt for Naomi since she won the briefcase at the Money in the Bank event on June 7. Her ambition to reclaim gold is deeply personal, particularly concerning Stratton, whom Naomi has accused of making her life “unbearable” during a previous title chase. A championship victory would be her first singles title since 2017.

The drive for success is also fueled by her family’s dominance. As the wife of Jimmy Uso, Naomi is connected to the decorated Bloodline, which includes WWE World Champion Jey Uso and United States Champion Jacob Fatu.

I don’t want to be the one in the family without any gold.

This opportunistic attempt is in line with the more aggressive character Naomi has embraced since her heel turn in March 2025, where she revealed herself as the attacker of her former ally, Jade Cargill. Despite the setback on SmackDown, Naomi still possesses the Money in the Bank contract, maintaining her ability to challenge for a championship at any moment.
