Next Challenger to Trick Williams’ TNA World Championship Teased

Mike Santana has publicly declared his intention to “save” TNA Wrestling, a statement made shortly after WWE NXT’s Trick Williams captured the TNA World Championship. Santana’s vow, issued via Twitter on May 26, 2025, positions him as a prominent figure in the evolving landscape involving WWE and TNA Wrestling.

The backdrop to Santana’s declaration is Trick Williams’ significant victory at NXT Battleground, where he defeated Joe Hendry. This win made Williams the first active WWE performer to hold TNA Wrestling’s principal championship, signaling a notable development in the cross-promotional activities between the two organizations.

On Twitter, Mike Santana posted, “Woke up this morning feeling like I need to save @ThisIsTNA AND I WILL.” His presence was also felt at NXT Battleground; he had a backstage confrontation with No Quarter Catch Crew and was observed watching Trick Williams’ championship celebration, indicating a clear interest in the TNA World Championship.

Mike Santana, who returned to TNA Wrestling in April 2024, is also slated for his WWE in-ring debut on the May 27 episode of WWE NXT, facing Tavion Heights of the No Quarter Catch Crew.
