Nick Aldis confident about WWE WrestleMania coming to London

WWE continues to expand its international presence with major shows, and discussions about bringing WrestleMania to the United Kingdom have gained momentum. During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Nick Aldis expressed optimism about WWE holding its premier show in London, England.

“You have the Mayor of London campaigning, using it,” Aldis said. “He pledged to try to get WrestleMania at Wembley in his campaign for Mayor of London. I mean, what else is there that solidifies the status of WWE?”

London mayor Sadiq Khan included bringing WrestleMania, the Olympics, and the NBA to the city in his re-election campaign promises in May. Paul “Triple H” Levesque responded to Khan’s initiative on social media, inviting further discussion. Reports later emerged of Khan meeting with Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan to explore the possibility.

The conversation about WrestleMania in London gained additional traction when John Cena addressed the topic during WWE Money in the Bank last year. However, with Cena planning to conclude his in-ring career by the end of 2025, he would not participate in a potential London WrestleMania.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis reveals dual role in WWE

While discussing international expansion possibilities, Aldis also shared insights about his current position in WWE. Since becoming SmackDown General Manager in October 2023, he has maintained dual responsibilities within the company.

“I didn’t have any job then,” Aldis told Van Vliet, referring to their previous conversation. “Now I have two; producer and a talent. I have two contracts. An employee contract as a producer and a talent contract for the General Manager role.” This arrangement followed his backstage producer role, which began in August 2023 after concluding his run with IMPACT Wrestling at their summer tapings.
