Triple H’s direct intervention with Kevin Owens after Saturday Night’s Main Event raises questions about Nick Aldis’ future as SmackDown General Manager. The confrontation follows multiple incidents under Aldis’ leadership, including Owens’ attacks on Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes with banned piledrivers, plus an unresolved assault on Jade Cargill.
A potential dismissal from the General Manager position could transition Aldis into an in-ring role, possibly leading to a program with Owens. Aldis recently discussed his wrestling aspirations in an interview with Chris Van Vliet.
“In all honesty, no (I’m not at peace with the career I’ve had). I would like to lace ’em up. I don’t care if it’s on a regular basis but, I’ve earned it, once. If it was one more time, so be it. Like I said, I feel like I meet the criteria to be on that canvas at least once… (My bicep is) 100 percent,” Aldis said.
Aldis had stepped away from competition due to a bicep injury but has confirmed his full recovery. However, any potential in-ring return would likely follow an extended storyline development rather than an immediate transition.
