“Nothing is for sure” – AEW star weighs in on Sting’s potential in-ring return

An AEW star discussed Sting’s return to the promotion. The Vigilante has not been seen in the company since August 2024. Darby Allin, who teamed up with The Icon for a lengthy period, provided an update on the legend’s return.

The Icon retired at Revolution 2024 and hung up his boots after being undefeated in AEW. After retiring, he returned to the All In London pay-per-view and saved Darby from The Elite’s attack. Meanwhile, the former TNT Champion is currently aiming to take down Jon Moxley and his crew. He recently attended an All In Texas media event and claimed to be present for the show in July.

While speaking with Fightful, Darby Allin claimed he wasn’t sure when the former AEW World Tag Team Champion would return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“You know what they say, the thing about Sting is nothing is for sure. So who knows? Who knows? Who knows? Just from a selfish standpoint, I’d like to have him around more just because I like spending time with him. I know he’s loving life right now and he’s in his own little world,” he said. Darby Allin provides an update on Sting’s son’s training

The Relentless star has been training the legend’s son, Steven, for almost a year now. Steven had also a small role in The Icon’s retirement match.

While speaking with Fightful, Darby Allin claimed that the 65-year-old star’s son was working really hard and didn’t want to rush his debut.

“Steven, his son is actually training a lot. Time is of the essence with that one. You don’t want to rush anybody because if you rush somebody in there, they’re all, ‘Oh, that was a favor for Sting.’ We all want, when Steven steps foot in the ring for the first time,” he said.

It remains to be seen when The Vigilante will make his grand return to the promotion.
