A recent topic of discussion on social media went viral, with some claiming that Randy Orton was not a better promo than a popular AEW star. Fans have weighed in on this, and it seems that there are mixed opinions on the matter.
‘Hangman’ Adam Page is someone on the Jacksonville-based promotion’s roster who is not known for his promos, but when he does get an opportunity, they are heavily impactful. His recent feud with Swerve Strickland was proof of this, as each step of the way, he was able to showcase his descent into madness through his promos. The Apex Predator, on the other hand, has delivered several great promos in the Stamford-based promotion and is considered an icon in the industry.
One fan claimed that Hangman cut better promos than Randy Orton. According to them, this was not an indication that Orton did not have great promos, but in the landscape of WWE, he was not at the top.
Some fans did not believe this was a hot take as they also agreed that the multi-time world champion was not part of the best in the business at cutting promos. One claimed that Hangman’s promos have a bigger impact.
“Randy nowadays is cutting good promos but Hangman promos just hit different,” a fan claimed.
“Orton isn’t even a top 20 promo TODAY, let alone all time,” another mentioned.
“This shouldn’t be an hot take at all.” said another.
Others disagreed with this take. Some brought up their impact in the industry, and how Randy Orton is still one the biggest draws. One agreed with Hangman being better but gave credit to all the great promos The Viper has cut throughout his career.
“We saying anything now,” one disagreed.
“One draws, the other doesn’t,” another mentioned.
“True but punt kick Orton was great and some of the early Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns feuds were pretty good,” one said.
Randy Orton could return to WWE soon
Randy Orton has not been seen in WWE for almost two months now after Kevin Owens took him out with a Piledriver. He has been diagnosed with Cervical Cord Neurapraxia and there’s no timetable for a return.
On a recent edition of WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes revealed that Orton was expected back by the Royal Rumble. It is unclear if this would be at the premium live event itself, or just around the time. This means that he’ll be around for the road to WrestleMania.
Orton has a bone to pick with Kevin Owens, and he could return and cost him his match with Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble. But till then, fans can only stay tuned for more information.
