Popular tag team implodes on SmacKDown as frustrated star walks out on his partner after attacking Street Profits

A frustrated WWE star attacked the Street Profits tonight on SmackDown. He then walked out on his tag team partner, seemingly frustrated over the events of the past few weeks. This was Tommaso Ciampa.

DIY was one of the most popular tag teams in NXT until Ciampa betrayed Johnny Gargano. This began their highly heated feud in the developmental brand. They would get back together again, only to turn on each other again.

It looked like they had put their rivalry behind them when they made it to the main roster. They even won the WWE Tag Team Championship before losing it to The Bloodline. Since then, they have been trying to reclaim their titles but have come up short in their attempts.

In recent weeks, Tommaso Ciampa has seemed frustrated that they haven’t been able to win the titles. He was even unhappy with Johnny Gargano for being friendly with Motor City Machine Guns last week. He was also unhappy when he heard the Street Profits got a title shot ahead of them.

Tonight on SmackDown, Street Profits challenged Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The match was going on Ciampa showed up and attacked Ford and Dawkins. He was about to attack Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley when Johnny Gargano showed up to try and defuse the situation.

However, Ciampa shoved his tag team partner to the mat and then walked away, screaming that he wanted to win the tag titles. Gargano followed Ciampa to the back, hoping to resolve the crisis.

It will be interesting to see if DIY will break up again after what transpired tonight on the blue brand.
