Questions Surround Charlotte Flair’s Royal Rumble Victory After Return

Following her 2025 Royal Rumble victory, Charlotte Flair’s fitness status raises concerns about her WrestleMania main event opportunity, given her 13-month injury absence.

Charlotte Flair captured her second Royal Rumble victory on Saturday night, entering at number 27 and lasting just over 15 minutes before eliminating Roxanne Perez to secure the win. Her triumph marks a significant return after being sidelined for 13 months due to ACL, MCL, and meniscus injuries sustained in December 2023.

While wearing a leg brace during the match, Flair demonstrated she could still compete. However, concerns have emerged regarding her readiness for a WrestleMania main event, as she has not participated in a singles match during her extended absence.

Reports suggest Triple H may need to evaluate her fitness level before confirming her championship opportunity at WWE’s premier event.

Charlotte Flair Gets Emotional After Historic Win

During the Royal Rumble post-show, Flair addressed her emotional return to WWE competition.

I really don’t want to break down. So this was the longest I’ve been away from you guys and fans since I started in 2012, and I got into this business because of my little brother. When my knee injury happened in December and it took me out, I just kept thinking, ‘I can’t go out this way.’ Then it made me realize how far I’ve come, and I was doing it because of him. Then seeing all the fans keeping up with my injury updates throughout the year with rehab and like, ‘We miss you Charlotte, we love you Charlotte,’ as a performer, sometimes you do feel like, ‘Do I still got it? What am I coming back to do? I’ve done it all.’ Coming back tonight and winning the Rumble two times, it’s like no, I’m coming back to do it all over again. That’s how hungry I am. Little secret, when I came out tonight, I couldn’t get my robe off. I was like, good thing I remembered how to wrestle because I can’t get this robe off [laughs], it had been so long. So it felt great, thank you.

With three potential championship opportunities available at WrestleMania 41 – against Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, or Giulia – Flair’s selection and physical readiness remain key storylines heading into WWE’s biggest event of the year.
