Sources reveal contract disputes and pay reduction led to PCO’s unscripted incident with TNA Digital Media Championship at GCW event.

Reason Behind PCO’s Attempt To Destroy TNA Digital Media Championship Revealed

PCO attempted to destroy the TNA Digital Media Championship with a sledgehammer during The People vs. GCW event on January 19. The incident was not approved by either GCW or TNA management, leading officials to intervene and cut the broadcast feed.

Fightful Select reports that TNA was “livid” about the situation. According to the report, PCO was scheduled to lose the championship at the next Impact taping before departing the company, as his contract would not be renewed.

Dave Meltzer provided additional details on Wrestling Observer Radio regarding the contract situation.

His contract expired at the end of the year. He was offered a new contract and he agreed to it verbally, he did not sign the contract. They came back and they said they were rescinding the offer and offered him another contract. This was at the end of the year when they started the cost-cutting. A lot of people were offered less money and you saw several people leave over that. They offered him less money, he agreed to it. […] Then they came back again and said we’re not renewing your contract but we want you to drop the title on your way out. So he was gonna drop the title on this taping in San Antonio, I think was the agreement. And then he just never heard from them again.

Meltzer also reports PCO will not appear at the next Impact taping as previously planned.
