Rey Fenix shared an enigmatic image on Twitter today, January 18, 2025, which has since been deleted. The photo depicted him in a straitjacket inside what appears to be a cell. The post came amidst ongoing discussions about his status with All Elite Wrestling. The tweet with the photo was deleted by Fenix himself.

According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Rey Fenix reportedly seeks release from his AEW contract, which was extended due to injury time. Additionally, WWE reportedly has creative plans for Fenix.

AEW removed Rey Fenix merchandise from their official store. His brother Penta El Zero Miedo recently appeared on WWE RAW.

Rey Fenix’s Previous Social Media Comments

Rey Fenix previously posted comments about his treatment in AEW. During his ongoing absence from the company since July 2023, Fenix posted statements on Twitter regarding his situation.

Fenix also stated he required medical attention for months but received no response. These posts were subsequently deleted from his Twitter account.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE personnel expressed surprise at Fenix’s comments. Reports indicate Rey Fenix’s AEW contract extends into 2025 due to injury time additions, while Penta El Zero Miedo entered free agency on December 1.

Fenix joined AEW in 2019, capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship, AEW World Trios Championship, AEW International Championship, and ROH World Tag Team Championship during his tenure.
