Rey Mysterio has sent a very emotional message. He took to social media to share the heartbreaking post.
19 years ago, Eddie Guerrero passed away after suffering heart failure. He was found unconscious in his hotel room by his nephew, Chavo. He was still alive when he was discovered, but after the ambulance arrived, the legend was pronounced dead. The star was only 38 then and remains one of the most beloved figures in wrestling.
Mysterio was always close to Eddie Guerrero, and the two stars’ legacy is inexorably linked. They helped bring a different style of wrestling to fans globally. Both became legends as friends and rivals, but unfortunately, Guerrero’s passing left a profound void in the wrestling world.
Rey Mysterio sent a message to his friend and WWE rival, saying that even after 19 years, he will forever live in their hearts. He also said that they missed him a lot.
“RIP ✝️ Eddie. 19 yrs & will forever live in our ❤️ 🔥. We miss you a lot WeeWeeto,” Mysterio wrote.
Rey Mysterio paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero regularly after his passing
After Eddie Guerrero died, WWE gave Rey Mysterio a push. He won the Royal Rumble and ended up winning the World Heavyweight Championship in his first big title win.
Mysterio dedicated the entire run and title win to Guerrero, showing how much he cared for his friend. Since his passing, Rey has been open about missing his friend and annually has sent messages to him on November 13, the day he died.
Last year, he did the same, promising to continue to love him, miss him, and honor his memory at the same time.
Both stars are now members of the WWE Hall of Fame.
