Ric Flair’s legendary career might not be over. The legendary performer recently gave a huge update on his in-ring future.
Ric Flair is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He has wrestled for several decades. Flair had his first taste of retirement in 2008 after he lost to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24. However, this was not the end of his career, as he returned to the ring a year later and even competed for TNA Wrestling till 2011.
After spending 11 years out of the ring, he returned to have one more match in 2022. He teamed with his son-in-law Andrade against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. The match nearly turned fatal for the Nature Boy but he managed to walk away safely. Despite this, he made an appearance for AEW and was in Sting’s corner during his retirement match. The veteran even got physically involved in the match. However, Flair left the company shortly after without competing in a bout of his own.
During a recent interview on the Five Star podcast, Flair was asked if he had one more match left in him. The Nature Boy replied:
“Hell yeah, I do.” [H/T Fightful]
Ric Flair explained why Tony Khan wouldn’t let him compete in AEW
Ric Flair joined AEW to be a part of Sting’s farewell tour. However, he was almost never involved until the very end. There were teases of Flair getting physically involved in the buildup but he never stepped into the ring to compete.
This has left fans who were hoping to see Naitch back in the ring again a bit disappointed. However, Flair has an explanation as to why he was never allowed to compete in AEW.
The WWE Hall of Famer said on the same podcast that Tony Khan wouldn’t let him compete once he found out he was on blood thinners.
“Once Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring,” said Flair.
It will be interesting to see whether Ric Flair was serious about wrestling one more match.
