Ricochet says he can carry AEW and vows to prove it

After departing WWE on July 1, where he captured both the WWE Intercontinental and United States titles, Ricochet joined AEW and debuted at All In. Since then, he has quickly become one of the most talked-about stars on the roster. In a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Ricochet expressed his determination to reach the next level in his career.

“I’m going to show everyone that I’m the man,” Ricochet said. “I’m going to prove I can carry a company. It’s time to show everyone why I’m here. I was talking with my wife about this, and I said there was this one hurdle in my career I need to jump, and that is being the top dog.”

He reflected on his journey in pro wrestling, noting how his perspective has evolved. “Becoming the best, that’s not why I started wrestling. I was a 14-year-old kid, and wrestling kept me off the streets. It was fun, it allowed me to travel, and I fell in love with it. That was always my goal, but it’s different now. I believe I’m one of the best, and I’m going to show it here.”

Looking ahead, Ricochet expressed optimism about his future. “I’m super pumped for the future and what’s to come. So much is possible. It’s a new beginning. There is no guarantee it will work. But for the past 21 years, it’s worked out pretty well everywhere I’ve worked. This is my chance to get to the next level.”

Adam Cole eager to face Ricochet in AEW

As Ricochet pursues his goals in AEW, another star has expressed interest in stepping into the ring with him. During an appearance on 3NT Wrestling, Adam Cole discussed the possibility of rekindling their rivalry from their WWE NXT days.

“I would love it too,” Cole said about facing Ricochet again. “Again, Ricochet is one of my favorite opponents. He’s a superhero. He’s just unbelievable; the things that he can do. So I’m so excited that he’s here in AEW and I don’t see any reason why at some point down the line, we can’t do Adam Cole versus Ricochet two in AEW now. I hope so. Me too, me too.”

Currently, Ricochet is pursuing Konosuke Takeshita’s AEW International Title, while Cole’s pursuit of MJF at Full Gear ended after losing to Takeshita during the November 13 edition of Dynamite.
