Ricochet Sparks Fresh Controversy After Again Publicly Defending AEW

Ricochet addressed the ongoing discussion about the duration of AEW pay-per-view events through a statement on X, dated May 27. His comments followed a Wrestling Observer Live report which claimed that many individuals within AEW believe the company’s major shows are excessively long.

Honestly, even if we changed something, it would just be something else that people would complain about. 🙄

The Wrestling Observer Live segment, featuring Bryan Alvarez, indicated that a significant portion of AEW talent reportedly feels the pay-per-views should conclude before midnight Eastern Time. Alvarez mentioned he had spoken with multiple AEW personnel who shared this view regarding event lengths, such as that of Double or Nothing.

According to Alvarez’s report, while he had not directly discussed the matter with Tony Khan, he presumed Khan was satisfied with the current pay-per-view format. The report also suggested that some AEW talent feel they have limited ability to influence creative decisions concerning show length.
