A WWE insider has revealed details about Roman Reigns’ match at WrestleMania 41, according to Jonathan Coachman. The wrestling veteran shared that the current planned opponent will not be The Rock.
On the podcast Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Coachman shared information obtained through a WWE source:
I found out through an internal source about one of the WrestleMania matches. Roman will be involved, but The Rock won’t be his opponent. That’s all I can say.
Speculation about a possible match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania 40 gained momentum last year. However, plans were changed after fan reaction regarding Cody Rhodes’ position on the card.
Discussions about the match between Roman Reigns and The Rock continue after WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix. At a press conference held at the Intuit Dome, Reigns commented on the speculation:
I don’t need to provoke anything. You all do that for us. Let’s let the internet do its thing. That would defeat the whole purpose. The internet won’t do its job if I say yes or no.
The topic gained even more attention after The Rock appeared on WWE RAW to crown Reigns with the Ula Fala, following his victory over Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat.
