Konnan has addressed reports claiming Roman Reigns is unhappy with Jacob Fatu on a recent episode of the K100 podcast.
The discussion centered around allegations that Reigns is displeased with Fatu, specifically claims that Fatu hasn’t been training and has “let himself go” after earning a steady income. These concerns were reportedly topics of conversation among WWE employees.
Konnan questioned the legitimacy of these reports while reflecting on Fatu’s past circumstances before joining WWE.
So if this story is true, I could see him—he’s always been broke. He has seven kids. He had problems with his baby mama because she wouldn’t give him his passport so he could travel. Anyway, I think he’s made some money, and [now] he’s hanging out with his kids and is living a better life than usual; probably didn’t go to train.
Konnan expressed doubt that Fatu would return to previous lifestyle patterns, noting his strong position on SmackDown since his arrival.
I highly doubt he’s doing any of his street life thing anymore, but he definitely was when he was in MLW. Maybe he hasn’t been getting in shape. I never remember him ever having a [health] condition problem. […] At the end of the day, it’s Hunter’s [Triple H] decision, and he knows Fatu is money.
Fatu joined WWE in June 2024 and initially worked as The Bloodline’s Enforcer under Solo Sikoa before transitioning to a singles competition role this year.
