RVD briefly competed for AEW between 2003 and 2024. The veteran recently made interesting comments about a possible return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
RVD is still an active wrestler in the independent circuit. He has wrestled for various promotions over the years and even at 54, the former WWE Superstar can still hang with the younger talent. In the last year, the veteran has competed for AEW several times, with his final match taking place on the April 20 episode of Rampage. He has not wrestled since then but made a special appearance on the NXT 2300 episode on November 6.
Speaking on his 1 of a Kind with RVD podcast, the ECW legend said he wasn’t sure if wrestling for AEW was the best move for him. However, he acknowledged that money could always change his mind, possibly indicating that if the Jacksonville-based promotion made him an offer that was too good to resist, he might still consider it.
“Can I still wrestle in AEW? As far as I know. Thereâs no reason that I know of that I canât. If there is a reason, then I donât know about it. I donât know that it would be best move for me right now, but at the same time, money talks, and itâs a great motivator when it comes to going to work,” Rob Van Dam said. [H/T: Fightful]

Speaking on his 1 of a Kind with RVD podcast, Rob Van Dam recalled how he was treated backstage during his return. He praised everyone for being courteous and welcoming towards him. He also teased a future match against Wes Lee.
“Yeah, it felt really welcoming. Everybody from top to bottom was super cool, and everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome… if and when I want to come back, which I got some unsettled business now with Wes. … They all seem really legit, it’s really cool. Everybody’s happy… they all grew up watching my generation of wrestlers, so they’re really stoked to have us there, working with them. They value our perspective, just it’s really cool,” Rob Van Dam said. [From 12:47 to 13:37]
