Sami Zayn apparently supports Kevin Owens amid intense Cody Rhodes rivalry

Sami Zayn offered insight into Kevin Owens’ recent behavior and their current relationship status during an appearance on the In The Kliq podcast with Baby Huey.

Zayn explained that his separation from Owens occurred naturally after their tag team championship reign ended. “I don’t really know what to say there, because it’s one of the rare times where Kevin and I kind of went our separate ways, and nothing really terrible happened,” Zayn said. “I just stayed on RAW, and he went to SmackDown. We were Tag Team Champions. We lost the titles. We went separate ways. Nobody turned on the other. No hurt feelings, as far as I know.”

Regarding Owens’ recent actions against Cody Rhodes, including a piledriver attack at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, Zayn expressed mixed feelings. “Do I agree with all of them? No, I understand most of them. I don’t necessarily agree with all of it,” he said.

Zayn suggested that Owens might view his alliance with Roman Reigns differently than Rhodes’. “I think the way it affects Kevin to see, let’s say, Cody, teaming with Roman. I don’t know if it affects him the same way when he sees me teaming with Roman. Those are two very different relationships.”

The situation remains unresolved since Owens told Michael Cole on the December 6 SmackDown that he would address Zayn when “the time was right.” The two have not confronted each other since Zayn joined The OG Bloodline before Survivor Series WarGames.
