On her “Rulebreakers” podcast, Saraya laid it all out:
If I wanted to get a tattoo, my boobs done, or even cut my hair, I had to ask permission from WWE.” She made it clear this was primarily a Vince McMahon era issue, adding that “Things are different now under Triple H’s regime.
The timing tells its own story, as McMahon chose not to renew Saraya’s contract before his first departure in 2022. Though Triple H reportedly tried to bring her back into the fold after taking over creative, she ultimately signed with AEW, where she’s consistently praised the promotion for giving performers more freedom with both character work and personal choices.
As the wrestling landscape continues offering talent legitimate options, these behind-the-scenes differences might matter more than ever.
