Seth Rollins shared what CM Punk was afraid of ahead of their grudge match on WWE RAW. Punk and Rollins will be squaring off in a singles clash on the red brand’s premiere on Netflix on Monday night.
The promotion posted Jackie Redmond’s full interview with Seth Rollins on social media today. In the interview, Rollins suggested that CM Punk could be afraid of getting exposed during their match on the red brand.
“I think, one, either it’s a tactic he uses to try to put himself on a pedestal so that myself or the audience watching at home sees him as this prize, or two, there’s a genuine fear. I mean, he’s been gone a long time. He’s not the same dude he was when he left,” said Rollins.
Rollins noted that he was the younger and fitter star and that Punk may have to face the fact that he’s not who he used to be if he loses the match to The Visionary on WWE RAW on January 6.
“I am a younger man. I am in better shape than he is. And I think there’s a fear that if he faces me, everything I’m saying about him might be the truth. He might have to face that at the end of the match. He might have to face those truths,” added Rollins. [H/T: Ringside News]

Wrestling veteran comments on the rivalry between CM Punk and Seth Rollins on WWE RAW
Wrestling legend Hugo Savinovich recently commented on the rivalry between CM Punk and Seth Rollins.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s UnSKripted, Savinovich discussed The Visionary calling Punk a “cancer” on WWE television. The veteran noted that Seth Rollins delivered the promo with a lot of emotion and wondered if the former World Heavyweight Champion despised his opponent in real life:
“The way that show ended, on RAW, the half shoot going in to the script into the creative part of hearing Seth repeating what was off air, legit calling CM Punk a cancer. Seeing his veins pop, you know, the question is, is it acting or is it coming from the guts?” [3:40 onwards]

Seth Rollins and CM Punk were rumored to face each other at WrestleMania XL, but the match couldn’t come to fruition. Punk tore his triceps during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in January 2024. It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious on WWE RAW’s debut episode on Netflix.
