“It felt really welcoming. Everybody from top to bottom was super-cool. And everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome if and when I want to come back. Which, I got some unsettled business now with Wes [Lee] and his punk ass,” Van Dam said.
Van Dam also hinted at possible changed plans for the show, suggesting alterations were made with his wellbeing in mind. “I think that you would not be wrong if you thought that maybe there was some plans that got changed. And if so, that it was done for the betterment of me, and for my wellbeing,” he explained.
Despite limited interaction, Van Dam mentioned briefly catching up with Booker T at the show, highlighting the casual nature of backstage reunions in pro wrestling.
Rob Van Dam praises NXT women’s division
Following the main bout at NXT 2300, which saw Jordynne Grace, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Kelani Jordan, and ZARIA defeat Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyz, Cora Jade, and Roxanne Perez, Van Dam shared his thoughts on the division’s talent level.
“There’s a lot of room to show skill in a bout like that, and there’s a lot of room to show vulnerabilities or weak spots in a bout like that, too. I think they pulled it off,” Van Dam noted, while expressing admiration for NXT’s overall quality compared to other televised pro wrestling products.
