Takeshita Two Belts! AEW star wins another major title by defeating a 42-year-old legend

AEW star Konosuke Takeshita has once again proved why he’s best at what he does. He recently defeated Shingo Takagi to become the proud owner of two prestigious belts.

Konosuka Takeshita and 42-year-old legend Shingo Takagi put their respective titles (AEW International Championship and NEVER Openweight Championship) on the line against each other in a Winner Takes All Match at WRESTLE KINGDOM 19 in Tokyo Dome.

It was the 5th bout of the night which saw both stars deliver their finest performance in front of the crowd at Tokyo Dome. But since there could be only one victor, The Alpha made sure he was the one who walked out of the arena holding the two belts:

Check out a clip of their match below:

The Future won the AEW International Championship at the 2024 WrestleDream PPV at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington last year in a Three-Way Match against Ricochet and Will Ospreay.

Since then he has defended his championship belt a few times against different opponents in different promotions like TJP at NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2024, Josh Alexander at MLP Forged in Excellence, and Ricochet in Full Gear 2024. His next title defense is set to take place at WrestleDynasty on January 5, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome and his opponent is Tomohiro Ishii.

Konosuke Takeshita made his AEW Worlds End opponent pass out

Powerhouse Hobbs recently made his return after being on a hiatus for over six months. Following his return, Hobbs revealed that his contract with The Don Callis Family was over and started a feud with the faction.

He challenged Konosuke Takeshita for his International Championship at Worlds End 2024 but failed to capture the title. The champion made him pass out with a Guillotine Choke. Takeshita then followed it up with his Raging Fire finishing move to pick up the win and retain his title.
