The revelation comes after The Rock’s appearance on SmackDown, where he positioned himself for a match against Reigns, seemingly replacing Rhodes’ anticipated championship opportunity.
According to Meltzer, the decision was known only to a select few within WWE, which explains why Rhodes won the Royal Rumble despite plans already being in place for The Rock vs Reigns. The report suggests that even Triple H may have been unaware of these arrangements.
While Rhodes appeared set for a championship match, current plans reportedly have him facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. This change has sparked significant fan reaction, with #WeWantCody trending on social media over the weekend.
