The Undertaker and LA Knight met in the ring a year ago on WWE RAW’s 30th anniversary special episode. The Hall of Famer was used to help elevate The Megastar’s ongoing program with the late Bray Wyatt.
It is his feud with Wyatt that catapulted Knight to superstardom in the eyes of fans. However, the 42-year-old received flak from some industry veterans for ripping off the gimmicks of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Undertaker recently brought this up again.
In a sit-down interview with Teddy Long on his podcast Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Undertaker commented on LA Knight, whom Long mentioned as one of the wrestlers of today that resonates with him. The Phenom claimed that The Megastar is a product of both Austin and Rock:
“If The Rock and Stone Cold had a child, it would be LA Knight,” Taker said. “I didn’t say that. I mean, I just said that, but I didn’t say that originally,” the legend added. [From 1:26:41 to 1:26:51]
LA Knight has evolved a lot since January 2023. Earlier this year, he made his WrestleMania debut against AJ Styles and by the summer, he captured his first title in World Wrestling Entertainment.
LA Knight says Shawn Michaels always was his supporter at WWE NXT
In 2021, LA Knight re-signed with WWE after a failed first run that did not last very long. He began performing on the Tuesday show, NXT, where Shawn Michaels handles business.
While speaking to Sports Bible last month, The Megastar revealed that Mr. WrestleMania himself was a huge supporter of his, but he was not aware of it at the time. He noted that Michaels did not allow him to get released when there were instances where he could have:
“I don’t think I knew how much [Shawn Michaels supported] until more recently when he was talking about people before, who might have looked at a number next to my name which would have been my age and not known much else about me. Shawn would apparently stand up for me and be like, ‘I got him doing this and that so we need to hold on to him for now.’ I don’t think in the moment I was aware of that. In the back of my head I thought I was on the chopping block but not for any talent reason – just simply that number.”
