The Young Bucks drop a big tease about AEW future

AEW EVPs, The Young Bucks, finally returned to in-ring competition after two months at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty. The duo have been ‘working from home’ since they lost the tag titles to Private Party.

The brothers competed against Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb, and LIJ’s Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi in a three-way match for the vacant IWGP Tag Team Championship. The Bucks lived up to their expectations, winning the prestigious titles for the second time in their careers.

After the match, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson cut an emotional backstage promo, where they reflected upon their victory in the Tokyo Dome. It was a surprising babyface promo, where the two brothers declared that they would not take this title win for granted.

During the same promo, The Young Bucks hinted at returning to All Elite Wrestling soon. The former AEW World Tag Team Champions talked about resuming their duties as onscreen authority figures, while also bragging about bringing their newly won titles to Dynamite on MAX.

“Speaking of being EVPs, we have been working from home for a very long time. Who knows when we will be back? Maybe soon, maybe we will bring these (IWGP Tag Titles) to Dynamite on MAX,” stated The Young Bucks.

The veterans ended their promos with a surprising mention of Kenny Omega, who wrestled NJPW star Gabe Kidd at the same event.

The Young Bucks were last seen in the Jacksonville-based promotion in October at Fright Night Dynamite, where they lost their AEW World Tag Team Titles against Private Party. With Kenny Omega now back in his role as an EVP, it remains to be seen how The Bucks respond to The Cleaner’s threat.
