John Cena kicked off his highly anticipated Farewell Tour on this week’s episode of WWE RAW. While the Franchise Playerdid not tease any feud for the future, he cleared that he has his eyes set on the World Championship for one final run.
Since John Cena’s retirement was announced last year, numerous names have been teased as potential opponents for the star’s final run in the squared circle.
During the post-show media conference, Cena addressed his future with the Stamford-based company after his retirement. The 16-time World Champion said he was not going anywhere after retiring and that the WWE would have to fire him if they wanted to stop him being part of the company.
“I love the WWE, as you all know. I know I’m going to retire, but they’ll have to fire me to get me to stop being a part of this place,” stated John Cena.
John Cena announced his participation in the Men’s Royal Rumble match
While Cena did not tease any major feud for his upcoming appearances in WWE, the franchise player made a major announcement for Royal Rumble. The legend confirmed that he would be a part of his last Royal Rumble match and that he would win it to pave his way into the world championship picture.
Cena is poised to claim another world title victory, to make history and become a 17-time world champion. However, with no singles match victories over the past few months, the franchise player wants to prove himself worthy of a shot at the world title.
With a Royal Rumble victory, the legend could make headlines around the world, giving the fans what they have been dreaming about for years, a 17th world title run. Time will now tell what WWE has in store for the legend next.
