Top AEW champion barely survives on Collision

During the latest episode of Collision, a current champion in AEW survived a grueling encounter to retain his title. Tonight, TNT Champion Daniel Garcia collided with Mark Briscoe.

At the AEW Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view, Daniel Garcia dethroned Jack Perry to capture the TNT Championship, his first title win in the promotion. Garcia also participated in the 2024 Continental Classic while being a champion but failed to advance to the finals. At Worlds End 2024, Garcia was challenged by Mark Briscoe for the TNT title.

The title showdown between Garcia and Mark Briscoe took place on the first Collision episode of 2025. The two last squared off during the Continental Classic Blue League, where the latter managed to secure the win. The opening bout this Saturday turned out to be a technical back-and-forth encounter.

With just two minutes remaining in the time limit, Garcia managed to retain his title with a jack-knife pinfall. After the match, Briscoe and Garcia respected each other before leaving the ring.

This was Garcia’s first TNT title defense since winning it at Full Gear 2024. He has been targeted by The Hurt Syndicate as well. It remains to be seen what’s next for Daniel Garcia in his ongoing title reign.
