Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa offered support for Cody Rhodes’ recent partnership with Roman Reigns, stating the WWE Champion “had no choice” given his position in the company.
Speaking on Busted Open, Rosa contextualized Rhodes’ decision within the broader scope of professional career choices. She emphasized that wrestling, like any profession, sometimes requires strategic alliances to achieve larger objectives.
“In the case of Cody Rhodes, he had to do what he had to do as the golden boy. He had no choice but to work with certain people,” Rosa explained. “He has to work with the top people at a certain time to fight evil. It has happened everywhere.”
The comments follow Kevin Owens’ criticism of Rhodes on SmackDown regarding the alliance. Rhodes, who has dubbed WWE’s current period the “Renaissance Era” under Triple H’s creative direction, faces increased scrutiny as the company’s champion.
