Angel and Berto Garza are the new AAA World Tag Team Champions following a victory in a four-way match on June 15 at AAA Triplemanía Regia. The event, held at Arena Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, saw Los Garza win the titles from the defending champions, Sansón and Forastero.
The championship contest also included the teams of Nic and Ryan Nemeth, as well as the duo of Pagano and Psycho Clown.
The match featured multiple shifts in momentum, including the use of chairs by the former champions in an attempt to retain their titles. In the final moments of the encounter, Ángel secured a pinfall on Forastero to win the match for his team.
This championship victory for Los Garza occurs in a period of increased activity between promotions. Their stable in WWE, Legado Del Fantasma, also achieved a notable victory over talent from AAA just over a week prior at the WWE Worlds Collide event on June 7. There, the team of Santos Escobar, Angel, and Berto defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown in a six-man tag team contest.
