Triple H addresses controversy in WWE RAW’s Netflix debut: “We don’t hide what we do”

Triple H addressed the use of terms like “face,” “heel,” “work,” and “shoot” in the opening video of WWE RAW on Netflix. The material, which appeared online before the January 6th episode, featured footage from various decades of pro wrestling with Triple H narrating “the story of wrestling.”

During the post-WWE RAW press conference, Triple H commented on the open use of these technical terms:

We don’t hide what we do. I saw many people commenting today: ‘Wow, they used heel, face, shoot, and work in a promo?’ We don’t conceal our work. It’s what we do.

Most people understand these terms, which have already transcended our industry. I see people using them in other contexts. People know what we are, and we talk about it openly. We don’t underestimate anyone’s intelligence. We’re an art form that captures emotions. We don’t take ourselves as seriously as others take us.

WWE RAW breaks attendance record on Netflix

The show, held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, gathered approximately 17,000 fans.

The Rock announced the record-breaking attendance during the broadcast, which was later confirmed by the commentary team. The previous record belonged to Bash in Berlin, which gathered 13,149 spectators at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany.
