Triple H has tried to help independent wrestling for years, wrestler reveals
WWE’s Independent Development (ID) program has officially partnered with Black & Brave Academy, the training facility operated by Seth Rollins and Marek Brave. Speaking to The D-Lew Podcast, Brave revealed Triple H conceptualized the initiative eight years ago during Brave’s guest coaching stint at NXT.
“About eight years ago, Triple H pulled me aside and shared his plans to help out independent wrestling,” Brave told Derrick T. Lewis. “It wasn’t exactly what it is now, but similar enough.”
The program now includes partnerships with Reality of Wrestling, the Nightmare Factory, Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center, and KnokX Pro Academy. WWE’s talent scouts evaluated Black & Brave’s facility and training methods last year, leading to their inclusion in the program.
“From what I was told and what I’ve seen in contracts, this will turn out to be a positive development for independent wrestling,” Brave stated. “Six months from now, people are going to look back and feel silly about being skeptical.”
