Triple H may have abandoned plans for former champion babyface turn

Triple H appears to have halted potential plans for Austin Theory’s character transformation on SmackDown, despite multiple teases throughout the year suggesting a shift in his alignment. The three-time champion’s storyline has centered on growing tensions with his partner Grayson Waller.

WWE positioned Theory as a sympathetic figure in recent months, repeatedly showing him being denied opportunities due to complications involving Waller. This narrative direction led many fans to anticipate a character change that has not materialized.

The former United States Champion’s story progression appeared to lay groundwork for a significant character development. However, Triple H, serving as WWE’s Chief Content Officer, has seemingly opted not to proceed with what many viewed as an inevitable direction for Theory’s character.
