Triple H is a big part of WWE’s recent success, and rightly so. The former World Champion has seamlessly taken on a backstage role, and it has been just as successful as his in-ring career. Now, he could extend his list of successful signings with The Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
Over the years, Triple H has signed up a few names from AEW, and they have been massive success stories. Some of the ones that come to mind are Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Cody has achieved a lot ever since his return in 2022 and is now at the top of the mountain in WWE.
The same can be said of CM Punk. Ever since his return at Survivor Series in 2023, he has been the center of attention. It’s fair to say that Triple H has a knack for signing top AEW names.
He can do just that by signing up another former AEW name, and that is Ric Flair. Flair departed Tony Khan’s promotion early last year, and with the news of Charlotte Flair about to make a comeback, it could be best for him to return with her.
WWE legend Ric Flair reveals why Tony Khan would not let him get in the ring
Ric Flair was signed by Tony Khan to take part in Sting’s retirement angle. The Nature Boy and The Stinger had a storied history, and the two easily rekindled their on-screen chemistry in late 2023.
However, despite coming back to assist Sting, Flair was not allowed to perform in the ring by Tony Khan. The Nature Boy was speaking on a recent edition of the Five Star Podcast when he revealed the actual reason why Tony would not let him inside the ring, and it had to do with his health.
“Once Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring,” said Flair.
Given Flair’s age and health problems, it seems a wise move for Tony Khan to deny the WWE Hall of Famer the chance to compete in the ring.
