Unfortunate update on potential Paul Heyman return to WWE amid Bloodline drama (Exclusive)

The WWE Universe has been captivated by The Bloodline saga for more than forty months now. Paul Heyman has been integral to the storyline, both on-screen and behind-the-scenes. The Wiseman was written off TV several months back amid Solo Sikoa’s rise, but newly disclosed information has provided an update on Heyman’s highly-anticipated return.

The Wiseman’s forty-sixth year in the pro wrestling industry was one of his biggest. Heyman was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during the WrestleMania XL weekend, at a time when he was portraying one of the most important characters in the storylines. After failing to acknowledge Solo Sikoa amid Roman Reigns’ absence, the former ECW boss was destroyed by the new Tribal Chief and his henchmen in late June. The 59-year-old has continued to work creative backstage but has not been back on TV since then.

An exclusive Heyman update was revealed on the latest Weekly LIVE Q&A with Bill Apter and WrestleVotes from Backstage Pass. A fan asked when The Special Counsel could return to WWE TV, and Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Senior Editor recalled Heyman being at The Big Event in New York last weekend. Apter fueled the rumor mill by disclosing what Heyman himself had to say about his return.

“Paul Heyman was at The Big Event convention this past Sunday in Long Island, and that was the question that everyone was asking. His answer was: ‘Soon enough.’ So he is, from what I understand, I haven’t seen him, but he is allegedly backstage at all the TV shows right now,” Bill Apter said. [From 4:57 to 5:30]

Joe from WrestleVotes then pointed to how WWE could wait and bring The Advocate back after Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30, which will feature The Bloodline vs. The Bloodline 2.0 in the double-cage structure. Host Joe Lowry asked the proven insider if he had heard anything about Heyman’s return.

“Nothing specific, but I think it’s worth mentioning now, if the WarGames match is not specifically Bloodline vs. Bloodline, and there’s more stories involved there, I could see them waiting until that’s finished up,” WrestleVotes said. [From 5:50 to 6:08]

There was a general consensus that the New York City native would receive a major ovation from the Vancouver crowd if he were to return at Survivor Series. Apter then reiterated how this could be the right time to bring Heyman back.

WWE confirms The Bloodline for WarGames

World Wrestling Entertainment will present its 38th annual Survivor Series Premium Live Event on Saturday, November 30 from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The signature event will feature the WarGames double-cage match for the third straight year.

WWE has confirmed that the Men’s WarGames Match will feature The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn, and one wrestler to be announced vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and one participant to be announced of The Bloodline 2.0. It’s rumored that the final participants will be selected from non-Bloodline storylines unless they go with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Survivor Series 2022 saw Reigns, Sikoa, Zayn, and The Usos defeat Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, and The Brawling Brutes. The 2023 PLE featured Zayn, Jey, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton defeating McIntyre and The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.
