Another year is upon us, and yet, there is no sight of Brock Lesnar in WWE. One of the industry’s most notorious and beloved athletes at the same time, the ex-UFC mauler was last seen at SummerSlam 2023. He went out on his back by putting over Cody Rhodes, a man who has been carrying the company as its face since becoming champion.
Brock Lesnar’s status for the upcoming episode of RAW, which marks the show’s debut on Netflix, is not looking good. Fans love to look into the details, and when Lesnar was spotted in the Cold Open, many ascertained that The Beast Incarnate was due for a return. However, the rumor has supposedly been squashed.
Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dr. Chris Featherstone recently reported that the usage of archival footage featuring Lesnar was only for looking back at the company’s rich history. The Beast can never be erased from it as he has been part of some of the most iconic moments in the last decades.
“The cold open was just to commemorate the history. Nothing to read into. Last I heard, no discussions to bring him back,” reported Dr. Chris Featherstone.
‘The Wiseman’ Paul Heyman provided an update on Brock Lesnar
Perhaps Brock Lesnar’s most important associate during his time in the wrestling business has been his advocate Paul Heyman.
During a recent interview withClutchPoints, Heyman spoke about The Beast Incarnate. In typical Wiseman fashion, he beat around the bush, but it is safe to ascertain from what he said that at the end of the day, it is a matter of whether Lesnar wants to return to the limelight:
“I don’t have that answer because Brock Lesnar is not in the public eye, which affords him a level of privacy that I would never violate. So, if he is of the desire to ever be in the public eye again, he’ll let you know when the time is right. He’s earned the right to that privacy. He’s a private man, a private beast. Should he wish to be in the public eye, he will be, and should he wish never to be seen again, you’ve seen the last of Brock Lesnar,” Paul Heyman said.
Perhaps the most shocking moment of the last decade was the end of The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak. As seen in the video above, Heyman and Lesnar were at the top of their game during this time.
Lesnar’s lengthy absence also likely has something to do with former WWE employee Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, which seemingly alluded to the 47-year-old.
