Update on Jade Cargill injury
Jade Cargill faces an extended absence from WWE due to an undisclosed injury. The Women’s Tag Team Champion was written off television following a backstage attack on the November 22 edition of SmackDown, forcing her withdrawal from the Survivor Series WarGames match.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Cargill’s injury details remain closely guarded, with even those close to the 32-year-old star unaware of its nature. While WWE listed multiple injuries following the attack, Meltzer suggests one or two of these could be legitimate. The timeframe for her return is estimated at “three months minimum.”
The situation prompted immediate changes to WWE’s plans, with Bayley stepping in as Cargill’s replacement for the Women’s WarGames match. The Role Model joins forces with IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Rhea Ripley for the premium live event.
Cargill’s absence impacts WWE Women’s Tag Team division
Bianca Belair addressed her tag team partner’s status during a backstage segment on RAW, confirming Cargill would be “out for a long time.” The EST vowed to seek retribution against the mysterious attacker responsible for sidelining her partner.
The injury comes at a crucial time for Cargill, who joined WWE in September 2023. Her partnership with Belair had shown promise, leading to their capture of the Women’s Tag Team Championships. The former AEW star made an impact earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, notably eliminating Nia Jax in a standout moment.
